Mackenzie is the Global Startup Evangelist at AWS. His days are spent traveling the globe to meet startups, share their stories, and connect engineering teams together. Every day there are a large number of startups launching on AWS across every imaginable industry. It’s Mackenzie’s mission to find stories of startups that are helping to improve the world and share these stories with a wide audience.
Prior to joining AWS, Mackenzie was the Head of Technical Operations at Betterment, the world’s largest independent robo-advisor based in NYC which manages over $8B in assets. Mackenzie was a founding engineer and Head of Technical Operations at Oscar Health, an insurance startup also based in NYC, helping to grow the company to over 400+ employees.

As General Manager of ElastiCache, Timestream and DocumentDB, Barry manages a number of businesses in the AWS database portfolio. He is focused on delivering value to AWS customers through trusted data management services, with a relentless commitment to database innovation. Prior to joining AWS in 2020, his career includes over 20 years as the CEO of international technology companies, both private and public, including Undo.io, NuoDB, StreamBase, Headway, and IONA Technologies.
Chuck Ros is the Industry Success Lead for High Tech and Emerging Markets at SoftServe. He is a 30-year veteran of the IT industry, having started his career with Computer Sciences Corporation and having gone on to found three successful software companies, including Emerald Software, a pioneer in employee onboarding technology and one of the first enterprise ISVs to make the jump to cloud in 2009. He holds bachelor’s degrees in Computer Science and Statistics and a Master of Business Administration.
Geoff Trembley heads the AWS Data Solutions Architect team for North America and LATAM for Analytics services. Geoff has been in the Data ecosystem for the last 25 years, has co-authored an in-memory database engine, and has held leadership positions at both Oracle and SAP. He uses this experience to help companies unlock the value and gain insights from all their data.
Grady Summers has held technology and leadership positions for over 20 years and is currently the Executive Vice President of Product at SailPoint where he is responsible for driving SailPoint’s technology roadmap and solution strategy. Previously, Grady was the Executive Vice President of Products and Customer Success at FireEye / Mandiant. Prior to FireEye, Grady was a Principal at Ernst and Young, helping to lead the firm’s information security practice, and the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at General Electric, overseeing a massive global cybersecurity organization
Jacob Whitver is VP of Tech at Uptake Technologies and has over 20 years of experience in application development, data pipelines, system integration, system architecture, and AIML. Jacob joined Uptake in 2020 and has led the effort to provide a more scalable product by pivoting to cloud native first technologies. He led the system design and architecture of Uptake’s Federal project at the IL5/FedRamp high level. Jacob holds a BSCS from Roosevelt University and a MSCS with a focus in Machine Learning from DePaul University.
Juan Sequeda is the Principal Scientist at data.world. He joined through the acquisition of Capsenta, a company he founded as a spin-off from his PhD research in Computer Science from The University of Texas at Austin. His goal is to reliably create knowledge from inscrutable data. His research and industry work has been on designing and building Knowledge Graph for enterprise data and metadata management. Juan is the co-author of the book “Designing and Building Enterprise Knowledge Graph” and the co-host of Catalog and Cocktails, an honest, no-bs, non-salesy data podcast.
Dr. Lou Kratz, Ph.D., is a principal research engineer at Bazaarvoice, specializing in artificial intelligence and machine learning. He received his Ph.D. in computer vision from Drexel University in 2012 and entered the startup world to explore how lab-found solutions could be applied to novel products in the enterprise. At Bazaarvoice, he works on building an MLOps platform for scaling ML capabilities, as well as greenfield projects with significant value propositions. In his free time, he enjoys parenting, hiking, and cooking.“
Matt Carr heads the AWS Data Sales team for North America and LATAM which includes both database and analytics services. Matt has been a Sales leader at AWS for the last 6 years, previously serving as Head of Sales for the MidAtlantic and Carolinas Enterprise business. Matt brings a broad and diverse 25+ yr. background, having held leadership positions at multiple technology companies including AWS, IBM, Dell and Crossroads Systems. Additionally, Matt’s experience includes eCommerce leadership at CircuitCity.com, Investment Banking/Corporate Finance at Ferris Baker Watts/Anderson Strudwick and Supply Chain at Amoco Oil. He uses his experience to understand and relate to customers challenges and his expertise to position technology solutions to deliver customer business outcomes.
Sam Lakkundi is Vice President of Innovation and Head of Innovation Labs at BMC. With over 20 years of experience in the technology and innovation industry, Sam has established himself as an innovative leader, driving groundbreaking solutions that have transformed industries. As the VP of Innovation and Head of Innovation Labs at BMC, Sam is responsible for developing and executing innovation strategies that drive business growth, expand market share, and foster a culture of innovation within the organization. In addition to his work, Sam is actively involved in his community, volunteering with local organizations and serving on the boards of several for and non-profits. He is passionate about mentoring young professionals and helping them to develop the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the innovation industry.
Tom Godden is an Enterprise strategist and CxO advisor at AWS. He has delivered results at the forefront of emerging technologies (Cloud, Big Data, AI, ML, Social, Mobility) while ensuring adherence to regulatory, security, and privacy standards. He routinely collaborates with executive team members to understand their business needs, identify industry trends and comprehend market dynamics to deliver business results.
